Welcoming HP’s first web-connected business printers to ePrintCenter

HP Officejet Pro 8500A eAIOJust a couple months ago at Internet Week New York, HP announced the intent to expand the range of web-connected printing  to include business inkjet models. And today, that vision is being realized. We welcome new HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One series and HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One to the family of web-enabled printers. The models represent the first of HP’s business class printers that are web-connected and ePrint-enabled.

Just like the Photosmart e-All-in-One, the new business models have an email address that allows direct printing from a mobile device while on the go, or, as often happens, convenient printing for clients or colleagues visiting the office – without the need to install drivers or software. Another big plus – the web functionality allows for customers to print web content such as templates and stored documents without a PC by using HP print apps.

The first print app available on the business models is the Portfolio.com print app – with it, you can navigate through a variety of industry categories and print news that is relevant to your business. There are many more print apps in the works, all designed with the small- and medium-business customer in mind. You’ll hear about the innovative print app mash-ups right here on the blog.

You can find out more about the HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One series and HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One on our web site; highlights include the 8500A’s cost savings (50 percent lower cost per page compared with laser printers) and the 7500A’s introduction to the world as the first wide-format all-in-one device with web connectivity.

So, welcome Officejet and Officejet Pro models and more importantly… welcome to our business customers visiting us on ePrintCenter! We’re happy to have you join us.

When will Marketsplash "My Designs" be added? I was under the impression that it was preinstalled on the OJP 8500 series units.  I use Marketsplash and a quick printing app would be awesome

Do the web-connected business class of printers support all general print apps or just specific business print apps?

Does hp intend to add airline ticketing apps and other biz apps for their HPPHOTOSMART110D EPRINT WIRELESS PRINTER?

LizatHP (Sept. 22, 2010)

Hi Ancient Greek, good question. At this time there are no plans to support older printers to enable specific ePrint capabilities. However, you can use the mobile app HP iPrint Photo for printing photos from your mobile phone to HP wireless-enabled printers within your own WiFi network. The app is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android, Symbian, and WinMo devices. The iPhone/iPad/iPod touch version actually prints documents, too.

Here's the link to the mobile app page for HP iPrint Photo: http://h41112.www4.hp.com/mobileapps/index.html?jumpid=ex_r11400_go/mps_mobileapps

Hope this helps!

Does HP plan to support any older printers via firmware upgrades or an ePrint server "front-end" we might purchase to add to our older printers?
