I have had trouble logging into my google docs account also.

After checking my login info several times and receiving a "Login Error" every time, i don't know what else to do.

great app.its worth the every peny

gws000 (July 8, 2011)

Fantastic app.  It's so much easier than scanning everything and uploading.  Thank you HP and Google.  This app is worth theh $150 price of the printer, even if I never print another page.

BarbsBeads (July 6, 2011)

Thanks Google!

it a good move for HP

amalherbe (July 2, 2011)

Wondering why HP would make #eprint apps that aren't supported on all print models. I have an HP B210 and many great apps like this one just don't work. What a joke! Hey HP take a hint from the Apple App store ALL users should be treated the same.

Kent_Henderson (June 30, 2011)

Love this app.  Works great!  Need an option to save the password before this becomes a really usable product.  We are required to use 12 digit upper and lower case, numbers and letters for passwords.  For now, I'll use my desktop scanner but when the password problem is resolved, we'll use ths for all of our scanning needs.

filmil (June 22, 2011)

Needs support for oauth.

Also, stopped working for my printer.  After about 1 week of working fine, can no longer connect to Google Docs.

tanya511 (June 19, 2011)

i really lie this product

hdubb (June 19, 2011)

I agree. Having to enter password repeatedly makes it less secure. It encourages users to create easy passwords. I actually use a third party program for my gmail. Too many character to remember or enter every time.

I have the Officejet Pro8500A and when I try to log in on he printer key pad I keep getting an error message but I can easily log in on my computer screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

karo2204 (June 1, 2011)

Has anyone tried to upload a double-sided scan via ADF to Google Docs yet? When I do that, the second page is  turned around. You can see what I mean here: Google Docs Scan

Maybe someone has a solution because I have bought a 8500A Plus just because of this feature and I am bit disappointed. Also I would like to include myself in the request of offering to save the password for Gdocs.

EricAtHP (May 31, 2011)

JBark, this print app isn't developed by HP but rest assured, I've noted this specific request and can relay to you that it's been heard.  However, I don't have insight into the implementation but our partners update print apps regularly.

Jbark (May 30, 2011)

Since SO MANY USERs are pointing out the flaw regarding password entry, and it is obviously not fixed yet, maybe you could bump that recommendation up interally?

I have an HP C310a and estorage does not appear on my eprint apps. Can someone help me. I bought the printer for this application and now I can't seem to find it, so my printer is actually half useless. Please HELP!!!

eveksler (May 25, 2011)

Like everyone else on this forum, I cant stand entering my password over and over on this tiny screen!   Are there any apps that do that?

Are there any apps that will let you email a document from the printer to another HP ePrint enabled printer?  Kind of like faxing but the 21st century version.  This, for me, would be the killer feature.

EricAtHP (May 25, 2011)

Again, the best way to let the developers know how to improve the print app is submitting your ideas directly!

Richard_Foreman (May 24, 2011)

yep please add the password saving as an option, and auto-upload after scan.  Really annoying it can't do these things.

sulusulu (May 13, 2011)

This is a nice feature, but it is rendered practically useless with the ability to save your password. :(

EricAtHP (May 10, 2011)

Those sound like great suggestions and I recommend you send them directly to the developers by using the "Submit Idea" link on the right side of the page!

ShanaLyns (May 9, 2011)

This app is good but it could be great with two small changes. 1. Please, please please let me save my Google Docs Password into the printer. It's nuts that I need to type it each time. Second, please don't ask if I want to upload the doc to GoogleDocs after scanning it. Of course I do. Otherwise, I would not be using this app. Just send it so that I have one touch scanning to the cloud. Then, this would be the best app EVER.

GoBananas (May 4, 2011)

Im just starting to use it.

Hokulani (May 4, 2011)

There are at least 3 different ways to enter the password.  You can also use the numeric keyboard to the right of the display.  I still think HP needs to offer a SAVE PASSWORD feature asap please....

Hokulani (May 4, 2011)

Love this app.  It is amazing!  Anyone that is responsible for uploading docs for sharing/accessing, this is the one to own.  Using the share folder Google Docs feature would make it easier/faster for those that need to share docs asap.  This app needs a SAVE PASSWORD feature asap.  HP please update it.  If I didn't already understand Google Docs, then I would be lost.  If you do not have a Gmail.com email account, then get one.  No Gmail.com account, then this will not work for you.  If you are reading this, then you probably already have your ePrinterCenter account set up with your printer.

arajwany (April 28, 2011)

I am just starting to use it

Mountain_Country_Lady (April 21, 2011)

This is one of the most fantastic programs I have ever used.

ldm1701 (April 21, 2011)

To use this app. do I have to have printer connected wirelessly? I have it connected via ethernet. I try using app. from display, it asks me to sign on (if i have google acct.) As I try to enter id it says printer has to be connected wirelessly? Why are all these quirks not described anywhere?

dhevans6 (April 14, 2011)

Scanning straight to google docs is very useful, and works fine.  Hopefully I can now scan and ditch some of the annoying paperwork I have floating about the house - buying a printer to reduce my paper piles, now that is a new concept!

Grump (April 9, 2011)

You want to know why I'm grumpy?  On my iPad, I just select the App. and it opens -- I've tried three different Apps on this web site and they won't open -- I should not have to search a  "ePrint & Print Apps support forums" to make these
Apps work -- it should be intutitive, not "by guess and golly."

Great idea. But requiring a password means I will never us it again. To much hassle.

If someone has access to my printer then I am not too worried about them uploading stuff to my google docs account.

Accessing files is obviously a different thing. But realistically it's just too hard to type on the keyboard.

hpws$11536783021 (March 14, 2011)

Please provide an option for saving the password too... typing in a password on a tiny printer screen is enough to prevent me from using an otherwise useful app. Cheers.

Add an option to save google password and this app will be worth using.  Otherwise, great app.

Mediakings (March 2, 2011)

Nice app but totally useless because it doesn't remember the Google Docs password...

drewrosenberg (Feb. 28, 2011)

why does this only work for some gmail accounts?  It works fine for my wife's but not mine.  our usernames are very similar - no special characters or dots.  Just letters.  I even changed my password to my wife's password and that didn't work.  It just says that it was unable to log in.

ChrisV (Feb. 27, 2011)

Will this ever be available for the Photosmart B210 ???? :-(

Challis (Feb. 24, 2011)

Why is this available for the 6500a and 8500a but not the photosmart premium? hp say that some apps require larger touchscreens  to work - thr premium's screen is MUCH larger than either of the officejets'!

jkarlan (Feb. 22, 2011)

Great Idea but the interface to finding the google document you want to print has no basic file tree structure.  You can only browse by guessing the date it was last modified

@ Mr_Slugo

I tried to take out the "." it did not work on the printer app (it works on www.gmail.com).

I changed the setting "always use https" back to "do not always use https" in gmail settings.

Could a special character in the password (e.g. "+") be a problem for the printer app ?

This App is working perfectly on my HP 6500A E710 printer with my girlfriend's google account.

But it cannot connect to my personal google account. I checked serveral times the login data.

The only difference between the two accounts is a dot "." in the username.

My Girlfriends email adress is like: aabbccdd@gmail.com

My email adress is like: ffgg.hhjj@gmail.com

Does anybody else experiences the same problem or could help me out ?

JPrintWorld (Feb. 1, 2011)

Finally got this app on my Offficejet Pro 8500A by removing my printer and re-enabling apps. I followed the direction Janice gave below. Thanks!

Now I am seeing my documents in folders: Scanned_from_HP, Dec 2010, Sep 2010, etc. However I can't find documents I created today. I also do not have date folders in google docs so I am a little surprised to see these folders in eStorage. Is there some trick I am missing to see the folders ("collections") I have in Google Docs and to see recently created documents?

PhilJones (Jan. 20, 2011)

Ahhhh, gutted!!

Are there plans to get this working on the Photosmart Premium e-All-In-One (C310a) ?

Janice (Jan. 20, 2011)

Hi all,

GoogleDocs is supported for the following products :-

HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer series - A910

HP Officejet 7500 Wide Format All-in-One Printer Series- E910

HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer - E710

If you are having issue to add this app for these printers, you can try to reset the web service and reregister.

This will change the eprint address of your printer.

Go to Setup >> Web Services Setup >> Restore Factory Settings

After this step, you can enable the Web Services again by pressing on the Apps icon to complete the registration.

PhilJones (Jan. 17, 2011)

About to buy a HP Photosmart Plus C310a - can anyone tell me before I get this whether the eStorage app will work on this printer? I am in Europe (UK).

I am trying to scan and upload a document to my google apps account.  While I have been able to connect to the network and print via eprint and using the email address, now it repeatedly says it cannot connect to the network when it tries to go to hpeprintcenter.com.  Is there a problem with this app?

i want know how to eprint the page

JPrintWorld (Jan. 6, 2011)

I have been trying to get this ap on my OfficeJet Pro 8500A Premium since last month but still cannot succeed. It says it is not available for this printer when I try. I just tried it again and still cannot see the eStorage app on the 8500A Premium. I have firmware version LRP1FN1048PR and when I check for updates the printer says none are available.

When I go to ePrintCenter to look for new apps on my OJ Pro 8500A Premium printer I get the following messge: "Oops! Something just went wrong on our server! We've logged the problem and will fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience." This has been happening all day.

A also have a OfficeJet 7500 and have no trouble seeing Apps available for that printer.

To try to get eStorage onto my OJ Pro 8500A, I look at Apps for the 7500A in ePrintCenter, select eStorage, then click the tab for the 8500A. At that time the add/remove button changes to say "X Not available for this printer".

This leads me to believe it is still not working for the 8500A Premium, only for the 8500A base model as Bateman500 reports below.

hpws$103706518 (Dec. 12, 2010)

No love for the 6500A Plus AIO???

Bateman500 (Dec. 11, 2010)

This app now works on the 8500A!  This is a great way to upaload docs to your googledocs account via PDF. (Despite the image above, only PDF black and PDF color are avaiable.)

Only two issues:

1. Although there is a box to remember the email address, there should be an option to remember the password to your google docs account. Having to type this in everytime is annoying and cumbersome on the small touch screen.  While I understand the need for privacy in an office, at home I'd like the ability to just scan and go.

2. I think you could remove the prompt to "upload the document to googledocs after the scan is successful?" option.  Obviously, that's what we want to do.  I've already selected my email address and scanned the doc. I don't need another prompt asking to upload it.

Other than that, very nice app!
